I attended an all-black Newbold High School now named George E. Massey Elementary in Lincolnton, N.C. At that time Newbold had 65 out 190 male students to graduate from 1962-1968 who served in Vietnam, 55 out 65 were diagnosed disabled due to Agent Orange.

BLACK HISTORY IN LINCOLN COUNTY N.C. Bishop Thomas Lomax was a supporter of the church Moore's Chapel A.M.E. Zion on East Main Street Lincolnton. He founded Lomax Lodge #29 in 1885 in Lincolnton and established his family in Iron Station while he lived in Charlotte.

St. Luke was a White Episcopal Church which retained a Black membership many years after all the other white churches expelled their Black membership. by Rudolph Young.
